STS-51D was the fourth flight of Space Shuttle Discovery and NASA's 16th Shuttle mission. Karol J. Bobko, Donald E. Williams, Margaret Rhea Seddon, S. David Griggs, Jeffrey A. Hoffman, Charles D. Walker, and Senator E. Jake Garn launched from Launch Complex 39A on April 12, 1985, deployed communications satellites, and returned to Kennedy Space Center on April 19, 1985.
