NASA's Tracking and Data Relay Satellite-8 (TDRS-8), originally designated TDRS-H, was the first second-generation relay satellite in the TDRS system. Launched on 2000-06-30, it provided near-continuous, high-bandwidth communications and Ka-band relay service for crewed and scientific spacecraft from geostationary orbit until its end of mission in 2024.
