Tiangong-1
Tiangong-1 was China’s first experimental space laboratory and rendezvous-and-docking testbed. Launched on September 29, 2011 aboard the modified Long March 2F/T1 from Jiuquan, it supported six Shenzhou docking operations, short crew stays, and space-science, medical, technology, and Earth-observation work before reentry in April 2018.

- Successful precursor mission. Tiangong-1 was China’s first indigenous crewed-space test platform and experimental space laboratory. It completed six automated and manual rendezvous and dockings with Shenzhou 8, 9, and 10, supported short crew stays and space-science, technology, remote-sensing, and space-environment experiments, and helped validate the technologies and operational experience needed for a permanent space station. After an extended service period, its data service ended in March 2016; it reentered over the South Pacific on 2 April 2018.
