WRESAT-1, the Weapons Research Establishment Satellite, was Australia's first satellite, developed by the Weapons Research Establishment and the University of Adelaide. Launched from Woomera by a US-provided SPARTA-Redstone, it carried instruments to investigate solar radiation and the upper atmosphere.

- Successful. WRESAT-1 entered an elliptical polar orbit after its 29 November 1967 Woomera launch and operated for about five days, transmitting scientific information during its early orbits. It re-entered and was destroyed on 10 January 1968; the project established Australia's satellite capability, although no successor WRESAT mission followed.
