The African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE) is a pan-African international nonprofit membership organization for Earth observation, remote sensing, geospatial information, and related space applications. Founded in 1992 and incorporated in South Africa in 2008, it develops professional capacity, shares scientific and policy information, promotes responsible use of satellite-derived data, coordinates African institutions and industries, supports research and education, and represents regional expertise in international space and Earth-observation forums. AARSE also organizes a major biennial conference rotating among African countries.
