American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is a US nonprofit scientific and professional society founded in 1934 to advance knowledge and responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems, and supporting technologies. Serving more than 7,000 professionals worldwide, it sustains technical communities, professional certification, positional-accuracy and other practice standards, the Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing journal, books and archives, conferences, workshops, and continuing education. Its current 2026 program includes the ASPRS Annual Conference at Geo Week, workshops, and early-career recognition; the Society is an aerospace-native knowledge institution through its airborne and satellite-imaging, mapping, and remote-sensing work, distinct from the international ISPRS and from commercial geospatial companies, agencies, universities, and facilities.
