The Asociación Peruana de Astronomía is a nonprofit scientific and cultural association founded in Lima on 15 August 1946 to advance the study, observation, education, and public communication of astronomy in Peru. Officially recognized in 1948, it supports students, families, institutions, researchers, and amateur observers through guided astronomy programs, public observing, educational publishing, a specialist library, international cooperation, and operation of the Planetario de Lima and its adjacent observatory at Morro Solar.
