Australian Women Pilots' Association (AWPA)

The Australian Women Pilots' Association (AWPA) is a national nonprofit company limited by guarantee that supports women pilots and advances aviation participation across Australia. Founded at Bankstown Airport in 1950 by a group led by pioneering aviator Nancy-Bird Walton, it connects student, recreational, commercial, airline, and military pilots through mentoring, state networks, conferences, flying activities, and professional community. AWPA promotes public interest in aviation and provides a substantial national program of flight-training, career-development, and advanced-rating scholarships.
