Challenger Center for Space Science Education

Challenger Center for Space Science Education is a Washington, DC 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1986 by the families of the Space Shuttle Challenger STS-51L crew. Its national headquarters develops and delivers simulation-based space and STEM education through more than thirty local Challenger Learning Centers, classrooms, and virtual programs. Current work includes Operation Comet, Expedition Mars, Lunar Quest, Earth Odyssey, satellite challenges, educator training, and 2026 fortieth-anniversary national mission initiatives; the organization reports reaching more than 6.5 million students through hands-on learning.
