The European Astronomical Society (EAS) is an independent professional association founded in 1990 to promote and advance astronomy across Europe. Incorporated under the Swiss Civil Code with a perpetual seat in Geneva, it connects individual astronomers, national astronomical societies, research organizations, publishers, and other institutional members. The EAS convenes an annual scientific meeting, represents shared European astronomical interests, supports early-career participation and workshops, grants, awards and Fellows, professional jobs and communication, policy engagement, dark-and-quiet-sky protection, and collaboration across research, instrumentation, observatories, space missions, education, and public outreach.
