Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) is an Australian nonprofit aviation heritage organization formed in 1979 and incorporated in 1988. Its volunteers recover and preserve significant civil and military aircraft and, where practical, restore them to flying condition. The society operates the HARS Aviation Museum at Shellharbour Airport in Albion Park Rail and a separate museum and restoration collection at Parkes Airport. Its engineering work includes the restoration of the Lockheed Super Constellation Connie from a derelict airframe to flight. Membership provides ways to contribute through aircraft engineering, flight operations, museum curation, administration and hospitality. Membership enquiry sessions are normally held at the Albion Park museum on the first Saturday of the month at 11:00; confirm the schedule on +61 2 4257 4333. Members and supporters receive the HARS Phoenix publication. Headquarters: Shellharbour Airport, 54 Airport Road, Albion Park Rail NSW 2527, Australia. Consult the separate museum visitor pages for opening times, guided tours and aircraft access.
