International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS)

Founded in 1957 as a non-government, non-profit scientific organization, the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) is a worldwide forum for national aeronautical professional societies and the international exchange of aeronautical science, technology, and engineering. Membership is open to one qualifying national society per United Nations-recognized nation, while associate membership can include additional societies, companies, research organizations, and other approved institutions. ICAS is governed by its Council of member societies and Executive Committee, and advances cooperation through its technical community, publications, and biennial International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences Congress. Since 2011 its Secretariat has been hosted by the German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics (DGLR) in Bonn, Germany.
