The International Forum for Aviation Research (IFAR) is a voluntary, non-binding global network of national aviation research organizations and publicly funded university research institutions. Founded in 2010 by leading aviation research establishments, IFAR connects 26 active members representing more than 40,000 researchers, exchanges research plans and results, develops shared views and recommendations, and organizes an annual principals’ summit, technical working groups, and research-infrastructure collaboration. Its current work addresses aviation safety, emissions, noise, security, efficient operations, air-traffic management, maintenance and repair, and advanced air mobility, with education, youth-scientist support, and cooperation with ICAO among its continuing activities.
