International Mobile Satellite Organization

The International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) is an intergovernmental organization established by the International Maritime Organization to oversee satellite communications elements of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System and coordinate the Long-Range Identification and Tracking system for ships. It represents member-state interests in global policy forums and helps ensure safety, security, and reliable maritime satellite services.
