The International Union of Radio Science (URSI) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit international scientific union founded in 1919 to coordinate research, standards, scientific exchange, and education across radio science. Its commissions cover radio astronomy, ionospheric and space-weather science, communications, and wave propagation and remote sensing of planetary atmospheres, oceans, land, ice, and subsurface. URSI brings together 42 member countries and national committees, supports working groups and scientific publications, and convenes the triennial General Assembly and Scientific Symposium; its current programme includes the XXXVI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium in Krakow in 2026.
