The Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) is Italy’s main research institution for the study of the Universe. It coordinates astronomy and astrophysics research nationally and internationally, designs and develops innovative instrumentation for exploring the cosmos, and promotes astronomy education and public outreach.
