Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics

The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE) is an institute of the Max Planck Society in Garching that studies modern astrophysics through experimental and theoretical methods. Its teams build detectors, spectrometers, cameras, telescopes, and satellite payloads and conduct high-energy, infrared and submillimeter, optical, and astrochemical research using space-, ground-, and laboratory-based observations.
