The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) is a U.S. nonprofit professional association founded in 1967 to educate, mentor, and promote flight instructors and strengthen the professional standing of flight instruction. Its current work provides instructor education, professional development, knowledge sharing, ethics and standards, aviation-safety resources, member mentoring, government and industry relationships, publications, webinars, awards, and flight-training advocacy. Current first-party activity includes the 2026 State of Flight Training broadcast, an active professional leadership board, a January 2026 executive-director appointment, and a content collaboration bringing instructor perspectives and safety guidance to the wider aviation community.
