National Space Society

The National Space Society (NSS) is an independent, educational, grassroots nonprofit membership organization formed in 1987 by the merger of the National Space Institute and the L5 Society. It advances a spacefaring civilization through public education, space-policy advocacy, publications, chapters, conferences, and programs focused on human and robotic exploration, space settlement, orbital debris, asteroid resources, and space solar power. NSS headquarters operations are based in Merritt Island, Florida, while Washington, D.C. remains a legal and tax mailing address.
