Planète Sciences

Planète Sciences is a French nonprofit association that enables young people to learn science and engineering through supervised experimentation. Founded in 1962 as the Association Nationale des Clubs Scientifiques to coordinate youth rocket clubs with support from CNES, it later operated as the Association Nationale Sciences Techniques Jeunesse before adopting its current name in 2002. Aerospace remains a central part of its national work: Planète Sciences helps school and university teams design, qualify, and safely launch experimental rockets, mini-rockets, CanSats, and stratospheric-balloon payloads; publishes technical and safety requirements with CNES; supports astronomy and instrument-building; and co-organizes the annual C’Space student launch campaign. The association also delivers broader science education through a national network of regional delegations, volunteers, employees, clubs, training programs, and public activities. Its statutory seat is at the Palais de la découverte in Paris, while its national secretariat and operating address are in Évry-Courcouronnes.
