Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (CRECTEALC)

The Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (CRECTEALC) is a binational United Nations-affiliated centre established by Mexico and Brazil in 1997 under the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs. Its Mexico secretariat is hosted by INAOE in Tonantzintla, with a Brazil campus at the Federal University of Santa Maria; the centre builds regional capability through education and research in remote sensing and GIS, satellite communications and positioning, satellite meteorology, and space science.
