The Soaring Society of South Africa (SSSA) is the national nonprofit organization responsible for gliding and touring motor-glider activity in South Africa. As the civil-aviation-approved Aviation Recreation Organisation for the discipline, it oversees operational and airworthiness standards, pilot and instructor training, safety and quality systems, affiliated clubs, aircraft records, competitions, badges, and access to airspace. SSSA is affiliated with the Aero Club of South Africa and connects the national gliding community with international sporting and technical bodies.
