The Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE) is an international nonprofit professional society dedicated to improving the effectiveness, safety, and efficiency of flight test. Founded in 1968 by engineers working on Boeing's 737 flight-test program, it now connects flight-test engineers and other test professionals across civil, military, uncrewed, electric, autonomous, and emerging-aircraft programs. SFTE shares technical knowledge and safety lessons, develops recommended practices, operates specialist councils and worldwide chapters, supports education and early-career development, and convenes international and regional symposia.
