Space Telescope Science Institute

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is a Baltimore-based astronomical research and science-operations institute operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) for NASA. STScI conducts the scientific operations of the Hubble Space Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope, including proposal selection, observation planning, scheduling, instrument and data monitoring, calibration, archiving, analysis tools, and distribution of public data. Its staff and international partners also support the science community through the Barbara A. Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes, fellowships, research, public outreach, and preparation for future observatories such as the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.
