Vertical Aviation International (VAI)

Vertical Aviation International (VAI) is a nonprofit global membership and trade association for the vertical-aviation industry. Founded in 1948 and formerly known as Helicopter Association International, it adopted the VAI identity in 2024 to encompass helicopters, powered-lift aircraft, advanced air mobility, uncrewed systems, and emerging vertical-flight operations. VAI supports operators, manufacturers, suppliers, pilots, maintainers, and other industry participants through safety programs, education, workforce development, technical and operational resources, advocacy, publications, its VERTICON trade event, and international cooperation with national associations, regulators, and ICAO.
