VRI (Vlaamse Ruimtevaartindustrie, Flemish Space Industry) is a nonprofit association founded in 1995 that unites companies, research centres, and universities active in the Flemish space sector. Its 48-member network strengthens collaboration, technology innovation, knowledge transfer, and European and international competitiveness across satellite systems, Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, and life-support. VRI represents the sector to regional and federal authorities, supports participation in ESA and other international programmes, coordinates the Flanders Space cluster, and facilitates space-and-defence research and development. The Flemish network reported about 1,700 direct jobs and €400 million in turnover in 2024, alongside continuing outreach and STEM activity.
