Women in Aerospace (WIA), legally Women in Aerospace Inc., is a Washington, DC 501(c)(6) nonprofit professional association founded in 1985 to expand women's leadership capabilities and visibility in the aerospace community. Its membership is open to all genders and spans human spaceflight, aviation, remote sensing, satellite communications, robotic space exploration, and related policy. WIA organizes events in Washington and at aerospace conferences worldwide, supports networking, mentoring, professional and personal development, awards, and programming with leaders from industry, government, academia, and international aerospace organizations. Its official history reports a reach of more than 18,000 individuals, with continuing 2026 activity.
