ACE+ Program
ACE+ (Atmosphere and Climate Explorer) was an ESA Earth Explorer Opportunity candidate selected for Phase-A feasibility study in 2002. Its proposed four-satellite constellation would measure globally distributed atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles using GPS/Galileo radio occultation and satellite-to-satellite X/Ka-band links, establishing vertically resolved climate climatologies and improving weather forecasting and atmospheric-model validation. ESA assessment material documents ACE+ as a research concept rather than an implemented programme.
