ALOS-2 Program
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Advanced Land Observing Satellite-2 (ALOS-2), nicknamed DAICHI-2, is an Earth-observation program launched on 24 May 2014 as the successor to DAICHI. Its PALSAR-2 L-band synthetic-aperture radar observes day and night in all weather for cartography, disaster monitoring, land and infrastructure observation, resource surveys, and global tropical-forest monitoring; JAXA describes the mission as operating in its latter phase.
