Astrobiology Science and Technology Instrument Development
NASA’s Astrobiology Science and Technology Instrument Development (ASTID) program supported astrobiology-related instrument development under the Planetary Science Division from 1998 through 2013. ASTID funded concepts and technologies for space missions and Earth-based research; NASA restructured the element in 2013, with PICASSO covering TRL 1–3 and MatISSE covering TRL 4–6 as an integrated instrument-development pipeline.
