Carbothermal Oxygen Production Reactor Demonstration

NASA COPR-TP is a completed Game Changing Development project that matured a carbothermal reactor for extracting oxygen from lunar regolith simulant in a relevant environment. The prototype was tested in a dirty thermal vacuum chamber toward TRL 6, demonstrating automated regolith handling and oxygen-production technology for future lunar and Mars resource utilization.
