Chang'e-6 was a Chinese Lunar Exploration Program sample-return mission that launched on 3 May 2024, landed in the Apollo Basin on the Moon’s far side, and returned 1,935.3 grams of lunar material to Earth on 25 June 2024. It achieved humanity’s first far-side lunar sample return and began a long-term scientific program to store, analyze, and study material from the South Pole–Aitken Basin.
