Concentrator Solar Power Systems for LILT and High Radiation Game Changing Technology Development

Completed NASA Game Changing Development project (2016-05-01 to 2019-03-07) that assessed concentrator solar-power systems for low-intensity, low-temperature and high-radiation deep-space environments. The work evaluated Fresnel-lens concentrators including the SCARLET concept flown on Deep Space 1, studied integration with blanket solar-array platforms, and targeted improved conversion efficiency, radiation protection, mass performance, and readiness toward TRL 6 for missions near Jupiter, Saturn, and the Trojan asteroids.
