ESA's space-science planning cycle created in 2005 and known as Cosmic Vision 2015–2025 follows Horizon 2000 and Horizon 2000 Plus. Its portfolio spans large, medium, small, fast, and collaborative missions addressing planetary formation and life, Solar System processes, fundamental physics, and the origin and composition of the Universe. Missions include Solar Orbiter, Cheops, Euclid, and Juice alongside future observatories such as LISA. The planning-cycle dates do not delimit the operational lifetimes of its missions.
