JAXA’s DESTINY+ is a planned small-body exploration and technology-demonstration mission moved to a 2028 H3 rideshare. Its revised trajectory will first fly by near-Earth asteroid Apophis and then conduct a close flyby of asteroid Phaethon in fiscal year 2030, demonstrating deep-space operations and observing a primitive small body.
