Disruption Tolerant Networking (DTN)

NASA TechPort describes this completed Mars Campaign Office technology project as a protocol suite for stressed space links with disruptions, delays, unidirectional paths, and high error rates. The store-and-forward DTN architecture provides assured delivery, routing, security, and quality-of-service mechanisms for a standardized Solar System Internet, with NASA’s Interplanetary Overlay Network (ION) as an implementation and applicability across Earth, lunar, and deep-space missions.
