Flights and Fieldwork for the Advancement of Science and Technology Program
The Canadian Space Agency’s recurring FAST programme funds multi-year university research projects that give students and postdoctoral researchers hands-on experience in space-like missions. In 2026–27, the CSA plans at least 40 active FAST-funded projects led by professors from more than 20 universities and colleges and involving over 450 students and highly qualified personnel, using stratospheric balloons and reduced-gravity Falcon 20 experiments.
