The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Global Change Observation Mission - Climate (GCOM-C), nicknamed SHIKISAI, is an Earth-observation program launched on 23 December 2017. Its Second-generation Global Imager (SGLI) measures land, ocean, atmosphere, and cryosphere parameters to improve understanding of the global radiation budget and carbon-cycle mechanisms and to support climate-model research; JAXA reports nominal operation and continuing data services after checkout and calibration.
