GOSAT-2 Program

GOSAT-2 (Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite-2), nicknamed IBUKI-2, is an active JAXA-led greenhouse-gas observation program launched on 29 October 2018. Co-developed by JAXA, Japan’s Ministry of the Environment, and NIES, it succeeds GOSAT with more sensitive TANSO-FTS-2 and CAI-2 sensors for measuring carbon dioxide, methane, carbon monoxide, clouds, aerosols, and human-emissions signals from space.
