Hayabusa2 Program
Hayabusa2 is a JAXA asteroid sample-return program launched on 3 December 2014 that investigated near-Earth asteroid Ryugu and delivered a sample capsule to Earth in December 2020. Its extended mission continues through Earth swing-bys toward the rapidly rotating asteroid 1998 KY26, targeted for rendezvous in July 2031.
