Hinode Program
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Solar Physics Satellite HINODE (SOLAR-B) is an international Japan–United Kingdom–United States solar-observation program launched on 23 September 2006. Its instruments study the solar magnetic field, corona, flares, and other explosive activity to improve understanding of solar physics and how solar events affect Earth; JAXA lists HINODE in its latter phase of operation and makes its observations broadly available.
