Completed NASA Game Changing Development project led by Teledyne Energy Systems that developed and tested an alkaline water-electrolysis stack using contaminants expected in unprocessed lunar water-ice. The task reduced water-processing requirements and met its energy objective of 5.6 kW per kg O2 per hour with 80% thermal efficiency at 200 mA/cm2, while mapping performance across temperature, pressure, electrolyte composition, catalysts, and contamination levels for in-situ resource utilization.
