Kilopower Small Fission Technology (KP)

NASA TechPort describes the completed Kilopower Small Fission Technology project as a fission power subsystem demonstration for 1–10 kWe robotic science and human exploration systems. The project matured a compact reactor and Stirling-conversion architecture through the KRUSTY ground demonstration, supporting reliable power for missions where sunlight is limited or unavailable and reducing dependence on Pu-238.
