Land Surface Processes and Interactions Program

ESA Earth Explorer research concept dedicated to studying land-surface processes and their interactions with the atmosphere, including energy and water fluxes and biospheric fluxes such as photosynthesis and plant respiration. Its PRISM Process Research for Imaging Space Missions payload used hyperspectral directional measurements and bidirectional reflectance to characterise observed sites; the concept later completed Phase-A studies and was not selected for implementation, while its science and technology informed the Copernicus CHIME mission.
