ESA’s Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) is a planned Cosmic Vision space observatory led by ESA in partnership with NASA to detect low-frequency gravitational waves. Three spacecraft will fly in a vast triangular formation, using laser links and free-falling proof masses to measure minute changes caused by merging black holes, compact binaries, and other extreme systems.
