NASA's Living With a Star program investigates how solar variability and the connected Sun–Earth system affect people and technology. It combines strategic missions, targeted research, technology development, testbed opportunities, and international partnerships to improve understanding of space weather and radiation environments. Measurements from missions including Solar Dynamics Observatory and Parker Solar Probe support that research and may improve operational forecasting for spacecraft, communications, navigation, and power systems; the programme's scientific role extends beyond any single observatory.
