Completed NASA Game Changing Development study led by Langley Research Center with Kennedy Space Center and Marshall Space Flight Center support. LSH performed a trade study for a lunar safe haven to protect astronauts, electronics, and surface systems from radiation, micrometeoroids, lunar dust, thermal extremes, and vacuum. The multi-center team defined Level Zero and derived system-level requirements, evaluated 15 concept alternatives with decision analysis, and examined site preparation, construction, materials, autonomy, in-situ resource utilization, structural verification, and long-duration maintenance for sustained Artemis surface missions.
