Lunar Simulants (LS)

Completed NASA Game Changing Development project led by Johnson Space Center (2023-01-01 to 2025-09-30) that organized lunar simulant expertise across NASA centers and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. The team advised GCD and other technology projects, provided small quantities of simulants, updated the Lunar Regolith Simulant User Guide, supported the Lunar Surface Innovation Consortium, and maintained simulant guidance and database contributions. It characterized available materials with Figures of Merit, collaborated with commercial providers on high-fidelity lunar highlands simulants, distributed samples, and established best-practice support for lunar infrastructure development. TechPort names Off Planet Research, LLC, Space Resource Technologies, and Washington Mills as supporting partners; none had an exact canonical company identity in bounded production checks, so they remain source-attributed here without guessed IDs.
