NASA Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA) is a planned Earth-observation instrument mission, targeted for launch no earlier than 2027. NASA and the Italian Space Agency are partnering on a satellite observatory, surface air-pollution monitors, and data systems to characterize particulate matter and study how different aerosol types affect human health, including respiratory, cardiovascular, and birth outcomes.
