Mars Odyssey Program

NASA’s 2001 Mars Odyssey mission is the longest continually active mission in orbit around a planet beyond Earth. Launched on April 7, 2001, the orbiter has mapped Martian chemistry, minerals, water ice, geology, and radiation, and serves as a communications relay for other Mars missions as part of NASA’s Mars Exploration Program. JPL manages the mission for NASA.
